Coastal waters forecast area : Esperance Coastal Waters Forecast
What can you say about Esperance!
Esperance has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and when the wind blows it goes off! If there is no wind it is a great place to learn how to surf, swim, play pool, drink and just to hang around the coffee tents.
Some of the friendliest people around.
The best time to head for Esperance is when it is Forty degrees in Perth. It's about twenty six down there and the water is a little colder, but it feels fresher like swimming in fresh water not salt.
The water is so clear that you can see your shadow on the bottom while you are sailing along.
Places to go:-
The bay great for beginner windsurfers and SUP's when the wind is light, and as the wind gets stronger, it's good for slalom and chop hopping. In the bay you can rig up on grass and the water is only six feet away. When sailing in the bay you may need a weed fin.
Head for Nine Mile Beach if the waves are not too big.
Nine Mile Beach is about ten kilometers out of Esperance town so you will need a car.
When you see the beaches and the wind is blowing and the swell is 1/3 mast high or better you will think you have died and gone to heaven.
A trip into the national park (Cape Le Grand National Park) is amazing. Plenty of beaches to choose from and incredible scenery.
Whatron beach is also worth a visit. It's about 100km east of Esperance. Great for SUPing.
Esperance is an eight hour drive from Perth, well worth the trip.
Esperance is best from January to March.
